Natural Gas Range Shopping Tips

  1. Determine the appropriate size range based on the space in your kitchen. Residential ranges are available in the standard 30 inches wide style, but also available in 20-inch, 24-inch, 36-inch and 40-inch widths.

  2. Evaluate the special features including sealed or removable burners, commercial-grade, cleaning features, convection oven and heavy-duty burner grates.

  3. Choose the cleaning method - standard clean, continuous-clean and self-clean.

  4. Try out the controls on each model. Are they easy to reach and easily understood?

  5. Decide what oven capacity your cooking necessitates.

  6. Be sure to consider the placement of the exhaust system for the cooking equipment.

  7. Consider design-certified models that are tested to national standards by a nationally recognized laboratory.

  8. Compare warranty and service arrangements.
